I think the only thing more depressing than working in a basement on a daily basis is working in a basement when its raining. I *know* I’m not a captive in the Bastille or the Bloody Tower of London, but there is a bit of a torturous medieval feel to the place that I just can’t shake. Damp, damp, damp – even in all its lime green yumminess…Particularly when working by the light of, oh ONE bulb in a track of MANY.
So yesterday when the Very Last Bulb in my Ikea track lighting blew and I was working by the dim light of lamp hovering over my monitor…Well, enough is enough. Why am I too cheap to replace the freakin’ halogen lights? Oh yes! Because while the fixture was Swedish Economical Goodness the BULBS are $10 a pop and that adds up pretty stinkin’ quickly…
Which is how I managed to spend $50 on JUST light bulbs last night at Home Depot.
And since that was such a bummer….$50 JUST FOR LIGHT BULBS…I was feeling all denied in the retail goodness department…So I wandered my well-lit mouse over to Ebay…searching for a fabulous “Etcetera sweater” or “vintage cashmere ballantyne cardigan” or…(and don’t even think about taking that search phrase – I’ve been tweaking it for a long, long time…) I wandered into a new listing. For a yummy new Coach bag, chocolate brown, fabulous clean simple current style. Some gal *just listed it*. Buy it now – $49.99. It literally made me dizzy. I checked her feedback, her other items…Zowie! Clearly not a fake. Clearly meant Just For Me.
Click, click, click. Now that’s retail goodness.
Sadly, it is still rain, rain, raining 🙂
